A more comfortable outdoor space, less hassle, and the flexibility to enjoy the outdoors on your own terms.
There's nothing quite like spending time outside in Nebraska, whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the patio, hosting friends and family, or relaxing after a long day. But when the afternoon sun becomes overwhelming, bugs start showing up, or privacy becomes an issue, that outdoor space can quickly become less enjoyable.
That's where Phantom Motorized Screens come in.
Our team at Anderson Exterior Shading recently completed a Phantom Motorized Screen installation in Fremont, Nebraska, helping bring comfort, convenience, and versatility to a residential outdoor living space.
We're taking you behind the scenes of this project, from the benefits of motorized screens to the installation completed by our team members, Wayne and Warren.
The Challenge: Making Outdoor Living More Comfortable
Nebraska homeowners know that outdoor living comes with a few challenges.
One minute, you're enjoying a beautiful afternoon on the patio. The next, you're dealing with direct sunlight, pesky insects, or a lack of privacy from neighboring properties.
These everyday frustrations can make an otherwise beautiful outdoor area feel underutilized.
Some of the most common reasons homeowners consider outdoor motorized screens include:
Excessive sunlight: Direct sunlight can make patios, porches, and covered outdoor areas uncomfortable during certain times of the day.
Bugs and insects: Mosquitoes, flies, and other pests can quickly interrupt an otherwise relaxing evening outside.
Limited privacy: Open outdoor spaces don't always provide the privacy homeowners want when entertaining or spending time with family.
Underused outdoor areas: When the weather or environment isn't cooperating, homeowners may find themselves spending less time in spaces they've invested in creating.
The goal of a motorized screen installation is simple: Make your outdoor space more comfortable, functional, and enjoyable throughout more of the year.
For homeowners in Fremont and throughout eastern Nebraska, Phantom Motorized Screens offer a convenient way to address many of these challenges without permanently enclosing an outdoor living area.
Why Choose Phantom Motorized Screens?
At Anderson Exterior Shading, we believe outdoor spaces should be just as functional and comfortable as the inside of your home.
That's why we're proud to offer Phantom Motorized Screens as a customizable solution for Nebraska homeowners.
Unlike traditional fixed screens, Phantom Motorized Screens can be raised or lowered when needed, giving homeowners more control over their outdoor environment.
1. Protection From the Sun
Nebraska summers can bring plenty of sunshine, but direct sunlight can also make covered patios and outdoor seating areas uncomfortable.
With the appropriate solar mesh, Phantom Motorized Screens help reduce glare and solar heat entering an outdoor space, creating a more comfortable environment for relaxing or entertaining.
Whether you're enjoying a sunny afternoon or trying to keep the evening sun out of your eyes, motorized screens offer convenient, adjustable shade.
2. Added Privacy Without Sacrificing Your Outdoor Space
Want a little more privacy while enjoying your patio?
Phantom Motorized Screens are available with different mesh options that can provide varying levels of visibility and privacy.
This allows homeowners to choose a solution that fits their needs while maintaining the open-air feel they love.
It's important to remember that privacy levels depend on the screen material and lighting conditions, especially after dark.
3. Help Keep Bugs Out
There's nothing worse than having to head inside because mosquitoes and other insects won't leave you alone.
When installed with an appropriate insect mesh and properly closed, Phantom Motorized Screens can help create a barrier against unwanted pests.
That means more time enjoying your outdoor living space and less time worrying about bugs interrupting your plans.
4. Convenience at the Touch of a Button
One of the biggest advantages of Phantom Motorized Screens is how easy they are to use.
Instead of dealing with traditional screens or manually adjusting shades, homeowners can raise or lower their screens with convenient motorized controls.
Want an open patio? Raise the screens.
Need additional shade or insect protection? Lower them.
It's outdoor living made simple.
5. A Clean, Custom Look
Functionality matters, but so does appearance.
Phantom Motorized Screens are designed to complement a home's existing architecture, offering a streamlined appearance that doesn't overwhelm the outdoor space.
With customizable options for screen materials, housing colors, and installation configurations, homeowners can create a solution that looks like a natural extension of their home.
Behind the Scenes: Installation Day in Fremont, Nebraska
A great outdoor shading solution starts with a quality installation.
For this Fremont, NE project, our Anderson Exterior Shading team members, Wayne and Warren, handled the installation of the Phantom Motorized Screen.
Installing a motorized screen requires careful measurements, proper positioning, and attention to detail to ensure the finished product looks great and operates as intended.
From preparing the installation area to positioning the screen components and checking the system's operation, every step plays an important role in the finished result.
Wayne and Warren worked to bring this outdoor shading solution together, helping create a functional addition to the homeowner's outdoor space.
At Anderson Exterior Shading, we're proud of the people behind our projects. Our installation team understands that every home is different, and we work to provide solutions that complement each property's unique layout and design.
The result? A motorized screen that gives the homeowner greater flexibility to enjoy their outdoor space.
And that's exactly what we love about these projects: seeing how one addition can change the way homeowners use their outdoor living areas.
A Smart Addition to Nebraska Outdoor Living
While outdoor motorized screens are especially popular during the warmer months, their benefits can extend into spring and fall.
Here in Nebraska, we experience everything from hot summer afternoons to cooler fall evenings.
Having the flexibility to adjust your outdoor screens means you can adapt your space to different conditions.
For example, homeowners can use their screens to:
Reduce direct sunlight during warm afternoons.
Create a more comfortable environment for outdoor dining.
Add a level of privacy when entertaining guests.
Help keep insects away during spring and summer.
Enjoy greater flexibility when transitioning between indoor and outdoor living.
Motorized screens aren't intended to replace heating or fully weatherproof an outdoor area, but they can make an existing patio, porch, or covered space significantly more versatile.
For homeowners looking to get more use out of their outdoor living areas, it's an investment worth considering.
